Our Mission

We want to create a place where children and teens get to know God. Through this relationship with God, three main needs are met: attention and love, safety and security, and autonomy. We help children discover that they are valuable and loved, and what talents God has given them.

Our Vision

Lighthouse Ministry is a safe place for children and teens, where the Light and Love of God is visible and tangible. We want to help children discover who they are and help them flourish. A place that helps children walk in their full potential, where dignity and responsibility are restored.

"Giving light and direction"

A lighthouse brings light into the darkness. Lighthouse Ministry brings God's light into a community where there is so much darkness. Additionally, a lighthouse gives direction to ships. Lighthouse Ministry wants to help children and teens discover who they are and give them direction in their lives.

Our Story

Lighthouse Ministry began in 2020 with a vision from Kenneth and Gerlinda Shipipa for a safe place for children in Rehoboth. What started as a dream grew into an organization that reaches more than 140 children weekly.

Over the years, Lighthouse has grown from a small initiative to a foundation with multiple programs: afterschool care, teen evenings, the Skills Centre, hostel support, and more. With a team in Namibia and support from the Netherlands, we work together for a hopeful future for the next generation.
